This 1935 edition of the Rebel Song Book, edited by Samuel Friedman, includes both folk and revolutionary worker songs, and was published by the Socialist Rand School of Social Science in New York City. The school offered worker education and operated a research bureau, as well as a summer camp in the Pocono Mountains called Camp Tamiment. The cover reveals the influence of modernism, and Cubism in particular, in the close mixture of the industrial and emotional, and was designed by Rebel Arts.
